Effective design, develop, deliver and evaluate competencies through quality Education Training and Development in a range of Technical as well as behavior skills within SAAT and to 3rd Party customers in accordance with National and International legislation and standards.
Principal Accountabilities
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF TRAINING:
Research the training requirements through Needs Analysis and Task Analysis with SAA Technical and Third Party clients.
Convene performance standards and requirements with customers for best fit
Educate oneself using literature available, new knowledge technology internet subject matter experience to choose best fit training techniques.
Design the training program including preparing of objectives / Purpose course content and evaluation measures for customers.
Develop training material and curriculum guides, produce instructional materials and develop presentation plans.
Plan the best fit strategy for the delivery of
Compile learning materials through instructional writing and using electronic media (IS&IT).
Revise & update curricula to stay abreast with Technology and the National and International Training Legislation (SDA, SAQA, EASA, FAR, CAA).
Keep up to date with the latest Aircraft
ADMINISTRATION
DUTIES:
Administrate the Training environment, plan the best -fit strategy for the delivery of training and capture training and progress records.
Arrange venues, availability of learning materials, and other training
Arrange and ensure the serviceability / availability of tools, machines and equipment.
Procure / order materials for practical tasks using the AMOS procedure for
Arrange classrooms conducive to learning and training and to optimize
Prepare administrative documents for the capture of administration
Ensure the up-to date calibration of measuring equipment as required by legislation /
Conduct administration duties including:
Timecards
Attendance Registers
Discipline
Training Control Documents
Leave
Record keeping
Arrange travel concessions
Provide training feedback monthly
DUTES IN THE DELIVERY OF TRAINING
Facilitate the training program, using Competency Based Modular Training (CBMT) methodology and any other appropriate training methodology using adult training
Ensure the effectiveness of Outcome Based Education/Training (OBET)
Arrange and conduct field trips
Demonstrate the use of machines, tools and
Lecturing using overhead projectors, digital projectors, board and chalk, samples, charts, videos, IT equipment, handouts etc.
Support training with the integration of cognitive development and life
Apply Adult Learning
ON- JOB TRAINING
Liaise with managerial staff in selective areas for the implementation of on-job training
Design and develop OJT programs (and update) in accordance customer and training
Ensure the effective transfer of training to production
Provide on -job -training Guidance and control in Maintenance and Production
Coaching learners to the effective implementation of training (Group & 1-on-1)
EVALUATION / ASSESSMENT OF TRAINING
Ensure candidates preparedness / readiness for
Evaluate and assess the course
Evaluate learner feedback on course
Evaluate customer feedback on course
Evaluate learner competence (attitude, knowledge and skills) and provide
Set exam papers, self-test questions, practical exercises, Portfolio Evaluation checklists, activities and evidence guides.
Ensure confidentiality and safekeeping of assessment
Design memorandums/ answer
Ensure the serviceability and availability of tooling and equipment in compliance with Regulatory Authority Requirements.
Comply with National standards SDA and Other training authorities including international
Process results for data capturing on occasion and monthly
Manage disputes and appeals in the event of dissatisfaction from learners on the outcome of the assessment.
Give feedback on performance and give
Provide pre-employment bridging training and Trade Testing (ARPL)
Conduct proficiency and Trade Testing on behalf of the department of Labour as an accredited service provider.
Set and control phase
Provide one- on -one assessment for students with special
Assess candidates in Maintenance Type Training, theory as well as practical (EASA & OJT).
Assist learners in fault finding/problem
GENERAL / AUXILIARY TRAINING
Participate in decision making with regard to the National Training Legislation and Unit Standard writing as per SDA.
Provide bridging training for new
Provide cadet Pilot training
Perform maintenance, conduct maintenance training and certify release to service of Harvard aircraft complying with all Regulatory Authority Requirements.
Design, Develop and Deliver special training
Attend local and international development programs for self-
Assist / provide training for secondary, part certification and full shop certification
Assist HR with induction
Assist with Safety, Health and Environment
Retrain staff due to
Provide training and assist in aircraft recovery and aircraft recovery
Provide refresher / recurrent and certification
Assist with employee wellbeing (EWB) and deal with personal and compassionate
Control apprentice / learner
Prepare staff for the attainment of certification
Provide support training, recurrent training and refresher courses
Assist the manager Training in his duties
GENERAL DUTIES
Participate in Recruitment and selection initiatives(Learners and Technicians)

Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 or equivalent
Must be a qualified Aviation Technician in their respective trades. (Mechanical)
Must have 5 years post Apprentice experience in the Aviation Industry.
Have acquired part certification or equivalent
Must have a driver's license - Code B
Harvard aircraft type license - advantageous
Harvard maintenance experience - advantageous
Must have passed a Train-the-trainer course - advantageous
