Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and light food items while providing excellent customer service. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, teas, and smoothies.
Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide recommendations when requested.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, equipment, and seating area.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Handle cash and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system with accuracy.
Monitor stock levels of coffee, supplies, and consumables, and report shortages to management.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing queries, concerns, or complaints in a professional manner.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer-facing role (advantageous but not always required).
Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment operation preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and strong attention to detail.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Qualifications:
Minimum of Grade 12 / High School Certificate.
Barista training or certification (advantageous).

Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
Reliable and punctual.
Passionate about coffee and customer service.
