A well-established retailer is seeking an experienced Bakery Manager to lead and grow our Durban store. This role is suited to someone who understands that a successful bakery balances people, product, and profit.

You will be responsible for driving sales, profitability, and day-to-day operational excellence within the bakery department. A key part of the role is leading, coaching, and developing the bakery team while maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality, and presentation.

Key responsibilities include:



Managing and motivating bakery teams to consistently deliver strong performance Ensuring excellent product quality, availability, and visual merchandising Driving sales growth while controlling costs and wastage Overseeing stock control, purchasing, FIFO principles, and shrinkage Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards Building strong working relationships with store management, suppliers, and support teams Handling administration including rosters, timesheets, invoices, and team meetings

Requirements:



Minimum of 2 years' retail management experience Solid bakery knowledge is essential Strong leadership, organisational, and people management skills A hands-on, accountable approach with a passion for quality and customer experience
