Bakhuijs is a busy artisan bakery with two locations in Big Bay and Bloubergstrand. Customers love watching our team create fresh, beautiful baked goods right in front of them. We're passionate about warm service, attention to detail, and team spirit - and we're looking for Bakery Assistants who share these values.
Responsibilities
Welcome and serve customers with friendliness and professionalism
Operate the till and card machine, handle cash, and assist with daily cash-up
Maintain a spotless shop front and workspace (cleaning is a core part of the role)
Restock shelves and product displays throughout the day
Pack, wrap, and label products accurately
Assist bakers with basic preparation tasks as needed
Requirements
Minimum 2 years' cafe, retail, or cashier experience
Honest, reliable, punctual, and in good health
Weekend and late afternoon availability (non-negotiable)
Friendly, positive attitude with clear communication skills
Physically fit and comfortable being on your feet for long shifts
Valid South African ID or work permit (required)
