Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our team at Crumble GF. As a Baker specializing in gluten-free products, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality, delicious baked goods and hot food items that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our customers. This position offers an opportunity to showcase your expertise in gluten-free baking techniques and hot food preparation while contributing to the success and growth of our bakery.
Key Responsibilities:
Baking:
Prepare and bake a variety of gluten-free products such as bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other specialty items according to recipes and production schedules.
Hot Food Preparation:
Prepare hot food items such as gluten-free pizzas, quiches, savory pastries, and other hot dishes, ensuring they meet our quality standards and customer expectations.
Ingredient Preparation:
Measure, mix, and prepare gluten-free ingredients for both baking and hot food items, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards.
Quality Control:
Monitor baking and hot food preparation processes to ensure products meet our high standards for taste, texture, and appearance. Conduct quality checks on finished products.
Inventory Management:
Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of baking ingredients, hot food ingredients, and supplies.
Cleanliness and Sanitation:
Maintain a clean and organized workstation and adhere to strict sanitation standards to ensure food safety and compliance with health regulations.
Menu Development:
Collaborate with management on developing and refining gluten-free recipes for both baked goods and hot food items to meet customer preferences and market trends.
Customer Service:
Provide friendly and knowledgeable service to customers, answering questions about ingredients, products, and hot food options.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other bakery staff members to coordinate baking and hot food preparation schedules, share insights, and contribute to a positive team environment.
Compliance:
Follow all bakery policies and procedures, including those for safety and security, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Baker, ideally with specialization in gluten-free baking techniques and hot food preparation.
Knowledge of gluten-free ingredients and their properties.
Understanding of baking science, hot food preparation techniques, and food safety principles.
Ability to follow recipes accurately and adapt to changing baking and cooking conditions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Team player with good communication skills.
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or training in baking, pastry arts, or culinary arts.
Previous experience working in a gluten-free bakery or with gluten-free products.
Creative flair for developing new gluten-free recipes and hot food items.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry heavy trays of baked goods and hot food items.
Manual dexterity for mixing, shaping, and decorating baked goods.
