To oversee the maintenance of physical security, access control policy, standards and procedures for SAAT.
Provide expertise and advice and deliver effective and efficient security Aviation Security (AVSEC) services to ensure security operational excellence, protection of SAAT as a national key point and integrity of the SAAT operations.
Ensure the protection and safeguarding of SAAT personnel and customers, aircraft and facilities, against acts of unlawful interference perpetrated on the ground or aircraft.
Principal Accountabilities
Oversee delivery of the security services by the security service provider.
Ensure delivery of service in line with the service level agreement.
Record identified non-compliance by the service provider and make follow up on rectification.
Ensure general professional quality of service by the service provider.
Maintain effective relations with the service provider
Analyse information/data collected at the entry/exit point of SAAT and compile an action plan.
Ensure that all movement of items out of SAAT is recorded.
Develop data recording of movement of items out of SAAT.
Analyse recorded data on monthly basis.
Compile an action plan to address challenges identified from data analysis.
Address all report about any form of unauthorised access and breach of security to SAAT premises
Record all reported unauthorised access and or breach of security.
Address all reported unauthorised access and or breach of security.
Handle relations with ACSA security in relation to managing access to airside.
Institute or open cases for investigation on any unauthorised entry or security breach.
Maintain relation with internal and external role player in relation to physical security matters.
Develop and share access control policies with all internal stakeholders

Develop and maintain relations with relevant external stakeholders on matters of physical security.
Request and attend periodic meetings with service provider.
Compile management report relating to physical security matters.
Compile daily security report.

Aviation Security Operations Planning &
Solution Design
Provide expertise and advice on SAAT's security matters in line with the relevant policies, regulations and aviation protocols.
Contribute to the development of the SAAT's security operational plans and initiatives to enable SAAT to protect and safeguard employees, customers, the public, aircraft and facilities against acts of unlawful interference perpetrated.
Design and drive the execution of prevention measures and systems to strengthen security environment within SAAT.
Collaborate with business unit to execute the SAAT's security strategy, plans, and programmes that ensure compliance with regulations and prevent, minimise, and mitigate security risks.
Design and drive change initiatives to embed security culture across SAAT.
Aviation Security Advisory & Operations
Delivery
Execute SAAT's security policies, plans, guidelines/ tools, processes, systems, protocols and procedures based on industry best practices and most recent developments that address the needs and expectations of SAAT's strategy.
Assess security issues, risks, threats, and security systems to ensure the reliability and integrity of the security operations.
Identify and respond to any actual or potential incidents, i.e. authorised access to the security restricted identification areas or persons not following security procedures.
Assist in conducting aviation security investigations to identify and respond to security breaches and non-compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Relevant Degree, N6, or equivalent plus 10 years' experience as defined below

Relevant Diploma plus 12 years' experience as defined below
OR
Matric plus 15 years' experience
