Automation Test Analyst Tester/Trainer
Cape Town - Western Cape - South Africa

We are seeking an experienced Automation Tester to join a Hybrid team in Bellville on a 1-year contract basis. As an Automation Tester, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using Selenium, Visual Studio, and Jira. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the software products by identifying defects and ensuring they are addressed before deployment.

Responsibilities: * Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and Visual Studio, focusing on test cases related to functional, regression, and integration testing.

• Test Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with the QA team and stakeholders to define test scenarios, test data, and test plans. Participate in test strategy discussions to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Test Execution: Execute automated test scripts, analyze results, and identify defects and issues. Work closely with the development team to communicate and address any findings.
• Defect Management: Log and track defects using Jira or the designated defect tracking system. Work with developers to provide detailed information about identified issues and assist in their resolution.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of the automation framework, test scripts, and testing processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
• Documentation: Create and maintain clear and concise documentation related to test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test results.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
• Regression Testing: Perform regular regression testing to verify that existing functionalities continue to work as expected in the context of new releases.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of [X] years of hands-on experience in automation testing using Selenium and Visual Studio.
• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver for automated test script development.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C# or VB.NET.
• Experience with Visual Studio IDE for test script development.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Testing Tools: Previous experience with Jira for defect tracking and test case management.
• Testing Concepts: Solid understanding of testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices, including regression testing, functional testing, and integration testing.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and document defects precisely.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders effectively.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing requirements and priorities.

Qualifications: A relevant degree or certification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field would be advantageous.
