An internationally recognised leader in sensor technology and industrial automation is on the hunt for a Technical Sales Engineer to cover KwaZulu-Natal. This remote-based role is ideal for a proactive sales engineer who thrives on autonomy, knows the automation landscape, and can deliver smart solutions to clients in manufacturing, processing, and logistics sectors. Non-Negotiable Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, or related engineering field
- Minimum 2-5 years experience in industrial automation technical sales
- In-depth understanding of sensors, control systems, PLCs, and industrial networking
- Based in KwaZulu-Natal, able to travel to client sites as needed
- Valid drivers license and own reliable vehicle
- Proven ability to work independently, manage a sales pipeline, and close deals
- Engage customers in industries such as manufacturing, FMCG, automotive, packaging, and logistics
- Conduct site visits, needs assessments, and recommend appropriate automation solutions
- Provide technical demonstrations and support from first contact to after-sales
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and OEMs
- Collaborate with internal teams for smooth project handovers and technical queries
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and tenders
- Keep ahead of market trends and contribute to the companys competitive positioning in the region
