Job Summary

JOB PURPOSE
Manages and maintains CAD systems & CAD data management systems (Autodesk VAULT)
JOB FUNCTION
Provide training on the use of the data management system conforming to company standards
Support product divisions in the use of CAD software and data management system as per divisional requirements
Create and maintain all user access to the data management system and CAD software as required
Provide each user appropriate folder access within the data management system as per divisional requirements
Identify opportunities as needed for improving drawing methods and automation subject to management approval
Liaise with product Divisions to implement approved system developments within the agreed allocated project timeframe
Maintain data management system content as per company standards
Liaise with Engineering and drawing offices to confirm adequate standards for content as required
Ensure that CAD standards and naming conventions are upheld in each product division drawing office as per management requirements
Maintain and develop the divisions drawing templates and material libraries as required
Manage, plan and facilitate data management system and CAD drawing package contracts as needed including the contract's expiry dates and renewals
Verify the appropriate licenses are allocated to user accounts
Liaise with CAD suppliers to handle all support cases for Multotec group as required
Update and test data management systems and CAD programs before upgrading cycles commence
Compile and submit database status reports or any other technical reports as per management request
System backups are running and validated each week, CAD systems are up to date and all updates are applied
All upgrades to the vault system are done at times which cause down time in all applicable time zones
Initiate action to minimize downtime caused by CAD related systems in Product Divisions
Design, maintain, improve and record design of new/existing moulds as and when required
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
N4 draughting or similar
At least 3 years mechanical draughting experience in a technical environment
Experience in a specialised CAD role within an IT support environment would be advantageous
Competent in the use of data management system Vault
Displays advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D packages. Competent in the use of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
Follows up, problem solver, quality orientated, collaborative, innovative, good communication, planning and organising skills
Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and PowerPoint. MS projects would be advantageous
