Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills:
Proficient in stringing bundle conductors and Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) on transmission lines
Experienced in working with various transmission line structures
Working knowledge of Eskom standards and specifications related to transmission line construction
Familiarity with OHS Act, Construction Regulations, and SHEQ management systems
Sound knowledge of regulating techniques, tools, and materials used in the field
Soft Skills:
Leadership and team supervision
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to self-motivate and motivate teams
Basic computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office Suite
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the regulating activities of transmission line construction on-site
Monitor and ensure optimal use of plant, materials, and equipment
Lead and supervise field teams to ensure efficiency and compliance
Maintain strict adherence to Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards
Facilitate effective communication between site teams, management, and stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
Valid drivers license
Preferred: Completion of HV Regulations (Modules 110)
Health & Safety training relevant to supervisory roles
Experience Required
Minimum of 3 years experience in supervising regulatory aspects of transmission line construction projects
Strong background in HV (High Voltage) construction and supervisory duties
Appointed Operator Authorization Outcome Level 4
