Key Responsibilities:

Review food safety records and documentation (e.g. HACCP plans). Compile audit reports for the organization. Arrange travel and accommodation for client site visits. Submit all reports on time per project protocol. Ensure audit equipment is clean and functional. Follow all lawful instructions from managers. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Observe food preparation, storage, handling, and transport practices. Interview staff involved in food safety processes.


Bachelor's degree, B.Tech or National Diploma in Food Science, Food Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field. Understanding of the requirements of R638 from the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act 54 of 1972, and Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and regulations. A minimum of 1-year Food Safety or Occupational Health and Safety experience in an inspection, verification or related capacity. Proven experience in conducting food safety inspections, audits, or related roles within the food industry. Driver's license and own vehicle. In-depth understanding of food safety principles, HACCP, and sanitation practices. Excellent observational and analytical skills to identify potential hazards and risks. Strong communication skills to convey findings and recommendations effectively. Attention to Detail: Meticulous and detail-oriented when conducting inspections and evaluating food safety practices. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions to ensure compliance and food safety. Team Player: Capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams and building strong professional relationships. * Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to conduct on-site inspections at various food establishments.
