A boutique law firm in Bryanston is looking for an Associate Attorney available immediately, you will work closely with the Associate Directors executing your role in a wide range of matters including the following:
In depth knowledge of High Court procedure
Litigation, file management and drafting
Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys
Communicate with senior associates, candidate attorneys, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
You will be responsible for maintaining and updating the number of hours spent on a particular case
Building and maintaining long lasting building relationships with clients
Maintaining a report of ongoing cases and updating clients on case progress
Providing clients consultation on the consequences of legal proceedings
Keeping up to date with any changes in the legislation

Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal issues, identify key facts and legal principles, and apply sound legal reasoning to formulate well-supported arguments
Excellent Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate legal concepts clearly and effectively to both legal and non-legal audiences
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in drafting and reviewing legal documents, ensuring accuracy and consistency
Research Skills: Proficient in legal research methodologies and the use of relevant legal databases and resources to retrieve and analyze legal information effectively
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team, take direction from senior attorneys, and contribute positively to a supportive and inclusive work environment
Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using legal research tools, word processing software, and case management systems
Qualification and experience
LLB Degree; Admitted attorney of the High Court
Minimum 2 years post admission experience of legal practice in any field of law.
Strong academic background with a focus on commercial and corporate law.
Excellent drafting and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
Commercial acumen and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Must be able to work independently
