Assistant Sommelier elgr is a modern, casual and multi-cultural dining experience. The vision is fine food, great wine and inspiring cocktails, all served in a relaxed environment. elgr restaurant is looking for fun, energetic and enthusiastic waiters! Assistant Sommelier tasks:

  • Daily set up and breakdown of beverage related tasks.
  • Polishing of glasses and cutlery
  • Serving guests
  • Interaction with guests
  • Stock take of wine and related items.
  • Assist in up selling during service.
  • Assist Head Sommelier in his duties and take responsibility in his absence.
  • Assist in training of junior staff and to spread a knowledge of up selling and general information about the listed products.
  • When necessary step out of the roll and assist in other departments where needed.
Qualities needed for this job
  • Have a xe2x80x9cnothing is impossiblexe2x80x9d attitude
  • Be professional and have excellent people skills
  • Exceptionally skilled at serving, and interacting with guests
  • Know how to work in a team
  • Be precise, with xe2x80x9cattention to detailxe2x80x9d skill.
  • Have a general knowledge of South African wines and their origins.
  • Good sales skills.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years as an assistant sommelier or in a related field.
  • Minimum WSET 2 or related sommelier qualifications.
  • Fine Dining experience preferential.
  • Fluent in English

Salary Depending on experience and qualifications Job Type: Full-time Salary: From R12,000.00 per month
