Job Description


Requirements:

  • Degree in Sales and Marketing or relevant alternative.
  • Fluent in English.
  • At least 5 years previous experience working in Sales and Marketing, preferably in the luxury 5-star hospitality / hotel industry.
  • Preferably based in Cape Town or Johannesburg.
  • Experience doing sales calls and presentations to DMCs and Tour Operators in South Africa.
  • International sales experience.
  • Advanced level of experience with MS office specifically Excel and Outlook.
  • Good knowledge of the best practices and procedures in customer service for hospitality management and hotel operations.
  • High level of responsibility and accountability.
  • Strong management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • High level of detail orientated focus and skill level.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with creative software an advantage.
  • Regional and International travel will be expected.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
  • Attend Trade shows and Sales events to showcase the properties to the market.
  • Assist in servicing the tour operators and travel trade partners in key feeder markets overseas.
  • Responsible for servicing the local travel trade, including inbound tour operators and destination management companies (DMCs).
  • International Sales trips.
  • Maintain contact with overseas representation, monitor output and collaborate on any opportunities or sales trips.
  • Assist with preparation of the annual expense budget and control expenses to meet budget.
  • Collaborate on strategic planning to establish sales goals, develop sales materials, brand tradeshow presence and promotions to increase sales.
  • Collaborate with tour planners, operators, travel agents, travel writers, sports planners, wholesalers, golf markets and others to generate possible partnerships.
  • Assist with the implementation of Sales and marketing plans as needed.
  • Ensure Sales Activity/Occupancy reports are accurately produced within the specific time frame.
  • Assist with annual rates distribution and contracting; ensure that all 3rd party distributors are correctly contracted with the correct commission structures.
  • Together with the Sales and Marketing Manager and Revenue Manager, develop a variety of packages for local and international distribution to the travel trade and for direct sales distribution.
  • Establish and manage the properties trade data base.
  • Maximise joint marketing opportunities with travel trade partners both local and internationally, including tour operators, airlines, and South African Tourism.
  • Aggressively pursue sales leads and prospects for travel trade sales.
  • Attend industry meetings, presentations, and sales calls to promote the company as a destination.
  • Organize familiarization tours and conduct promotional visits to potential clients/ agents.
  • Assist in communicating property updates to all trade relations.
  • Assist in negotiating brochure inclusion, participation fees and barters.
  • Monthly Newsletter.
  • Assist with website management.
  • Assist with Digital Marketing Strategy.
  • Liasing and co-ordinating with external companies e.g.: Digital partner and PR Agency.
  • Assist with image bank management.
