Assistant Restaurant Manager - Upmarket Asian Restaurant - Cape Town
Our client, a highly regarded and upmarket Asian restaurant in Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support daily front-of-house operations and ensure exceptional service delivery. This is a full-time, live-out role and is available immediately.
Description
The Assistant Restaurant Manager will work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Directors to oversee all FOH activities, lead a motivated service team, and maintain the elevated dining standards the restaurant is known for. This role is ideal for a dynamic, service-driven individual with strong leadership qualities and a passion for high-end hospitality.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily floor operations to ensure a smooth and professional service flow
• Supervise, guide, and develop FOH staff
• Manage reservations, seating, and guest flow efficiently
• Deliver exceptional guest service and handle queries or complaints professionally
• Assist with stock control, cash-ups, and general administration
• Uphold service standards, hygiene protocols, and brand consistency
• Provide staff training and performance support
• Collaborate effectively with the kitchen and management team
• Maintain a welcoming, well-organised dining environment

Salary: R15 000 per month

Minimum Requirements

• 2-3 years' experience in a restaurant supervisory or assistant management position
• Background in an upmarket or high-volume dining establishment preferred
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Excellent guest engagement abilities and a solutions-driven approach
• Administrative competence, including POS exposure
• Well-presented, confident, and professional
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Reliable transport
• Calm under pressure, proactive, and committed to service excellence
