Assistant Resident Engineer (mokopane)

Job Description

Our company of consulting engineers is seeking to employ a candidate to fill the role of an Assistant Resident Engineer for project in and around Mokopane in Limpopo Province.

Qualifications:



N-Dip, B-Eng or B-Tech in Civil Engineering from an accredited University or equivalent. Registration as a candidate with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and SACPCMP would be an advantage. If such registration is not in place a timeline for such registration must be agreed.

Experience:



Minimum 3-years experience in Civil Engineering, Construction and Project management.

General Knowledge areas:



SANS 1200 CIDB NEC MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects BIM Machinery Act Measuring and Survey experience

Purpose of the job:



Sound professional who is able to supervise construction projects and provide quality assurance that completed work is in compliance with the plans and specifications. Maintain accurate records and reports related to the project. Act as point of contact and coordinate directly with the principal contractor. Monitor progress against accepted construction schedule and review the Contractor's progress reports. Assist with monitor and reviewing the preparation of the construction program by the contractor. Assess the progress and inform the

Resident Engineer

in case of delay. Oversee field site activities and provide technical clarification on construction and design. Discuss deviations from specified construction materials and procedures with Construction Manager. Support with the receipt of and coordination of all contract documentation provided by the contractor. Ensure compliance to quality assurance procedures and monitor implementation thereof on site. Assist with monitoring the preparation of contractor's health and safety plan. Assist with the monitoring the preparation of the environmental management plan as request by RE. Assist with the execution of procedures for monitoring scope and cost variations. Participate in regular progress meetings with the contractor and appropriate personnel and report on any issues, as necessary. Participate in contract close-out activities.
