Requirements
Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification preferably a B. Eng or
B.Sc. (Eng) in Engineering and Eligibility for registration as
Candidate Engineer
A minimum of 0-3 year's relevant experience
Key Performance Areas
Coordinating preliminary investigations of equipment and
resources and presenting findings to management.
Providing support in feasibility studies of plant, equipment,
premises, systems, to compile a comprehensive database on
each item to produce a full history
Provide technical support to the Generation Development and
Municipal Efficiency Branch
Assist with monitoring of services provided by service providers
to ensure conformity with programme / tender specifications,
including finalising bill of quantities and conducting post
implementation audits
Co-ordinates specific administrative and reporting requirements
associated with key operational performances and result
indicators, to ensure administrative procedures dictating reporting
requirements with respect to the functions/ activities of the library
are complied with.
Co-ordinates tasks/ activities of field workers / interns associated
with performance, productivity and discipline, to ensure human
resources needs are identified and attended to, supporting the
accomplishment of laid down objectives and compliance with
specific standards
Exercise appropriate level of care in the planning, execution and
control of city-owned generation projects.
Determine and communicate department capital budgeting
requirements from Generation Development plans
Exercise appropriate level of care in the management of
contracts
(EPC, EPCM, etc.) within GDMEE portfolio under management
Ensure evaluation and award of tenders according to City
procedures. Secure contracts with suppliers.
