Job Description
EyeSpace is looking for an
Assistant Laboratory Manager
to help us deliver world-class specialty contact lenses from our Durbanville facility.Purpose of the Role:
Assist in managing the manufacturing processes for specialty contact lenses, maintain compliance with quality standards, and support continuous improvement through developing and maintaining lean manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain lathes, including calibration and maintenance, to ensure uninterrupted workflow Produce specialty contact lenses according to specifications and quality standards Manage manufacturing staff during assigned shift Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and ensure timely resolution Assist with overseeing quality management systems and maintaining QMS documentation Assist in developing and maintaining lean manufacturing systems Support R&D projects and process innovation Coordinate supply procurement and inventory control
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5 years' experience in technical ophthalmic manufacturing and finishing environments Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality requirements Proven ability to manage production teams and maintain equipment
