Job Description
Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an Assistant Head Housekeeper for a luxury lodge based in the Kruger National Park. Within this role you will supervise the lodge cleaning and preparation to maintain expected standards and uphold the SOPs.
Responsibilities include effective communication with lodge staff, managing the lodge laundry and outsourced laundry process, contributing to the sustainable operations of the lodge, monitoring housekeeping equipment and lodge furnishing, training and developing staff, and performance management of staff.
Other duties include conducting daily room checks, managing the housekeeping department, ordering lodge uniforms and housekeeping consumables, recruitment, induction, and probationary check-ins of new staff, disciplining staff according to the company Code of Conduct, and controlling and monitoring the housekeeping budgets.
The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of world-class housekeeping standards and procedures, a good command of the English language, strong attention to detail, agility and stamina for physically strenuous work, computer literacy, and previous experience as a supervisor or manager in a similar establishment.
