Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an Assistant Head Guide for a busy lodge based in the heart of the Kruger National Park. We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to assist the Head Guide in overseeing, training, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences through guided game drives, interpretive bush walks, and more. If you are a nature enthusiast with a dedication to excellence, this role offers you the chance to immerse yourself in the heart of the African bush. Key Focus Areas: Safari Experience:

• Assume responsibility for the Guides and Safari department in the absence of the Head Guide.
• Efficient allocation of game drives, back-up drives, and stand-by duties.
• Ensure safe handling and proficiency of departmental firearms.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance and workshop operations.
• Active participation in lodge social media platforms.
• Effective incident management during emergencies.

Training, Development & Mentorship:

• Mentor, train, and guide the team towards achieving required qualifications.
• Develop team members, including NJM Students/Trainee Field Guides.

General Service & Guest Care:

• Collect and communicate guest information prior to arrival.
• Record and act on guest preferences.
• Report guest complaints to the Head of Department/Management.

Requirements Qualifications and Skills:

• FGASA Level 2 and Full Trails Guide qualifications.
• ARH and Rifle Proficiency, First Aid Level 2, Driver's License, and Pr-DP.
• Previous experience as Senior Guide or Assistant Head Guide.
• Proficiency in planning, budgeting, and departmental administration.
• In-depth knowledge of applicable property and company procedures.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Positive team player with enthusiasm and emotional control.
• Excellent time management, self-discipline, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, adaptable, and flexible with creative flair.
• Committed, loyal, and able to work under pressure.
• Possess people skills, patience, and care.
• Strong leadership skills with a passion for development and skills transfer.
