Overview:

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management and success of "The Quarter Club & Bar," an upmarket bar and club located in Plettenberg Bay. This role requires a dynamic and experienced individual who can lead a high-performing team, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and ensure the smooth operation of the establishment, particularly during peak seasons when the venue will be open until late in the evenings:

Responsibilities: * Leadership and Team Management:

• Provide leadership and direction to all staff members, including bartenders, waitstaff, and support staff.
• Mentor employees to ensure a high-performing team.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and employee growth.

• Operations Management:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar and club, including scheduling, inventory management/stock take, and quality control.
• Ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations, including alcohol licensing and health and safety standards.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels and implement cost-control measures.
• Be confident with operating technology, POS system and staff manager system.

• Customer Experience:

• Maintain a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service to enhance the overall guest experience.
• Address customer concerns and feedback promptly and effectively.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase customer satisfaction and repeat business.

• Financial Management:

• Develop and manage the establishment's budget, including revenue and expense forecasting.
• Analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
• Maximize revenue through effective pricing strategies and promotions.

• Marketing and Promotion:

• Work with the team to develop and implement marketing and promotional campaigns.
• Build and maintain relationships with local influencers, event organizers to increase brand visibility.
• Monitor industry trends and competitors to identify growth opportunities.

• Safety and Security:

• Ensure the safety and security of all employees and customers.
• Implement and enforce security protocols, including ID checks and crowd control measures.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and security services as needed.

• Reporting and Accountability:

• Provide regular reports to the owners or stakeholders on the financial performance and overall status of the establishment.
• Set and monitor performance goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for staff and the establishment as a whole.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (not necessary but preferred).
• Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role in the hospitality industry.
• Strong understanding of bar and club operations, including beverage management and customer service.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of local laws and regulations pertaining to alcohol service and safety.
• Proficiency in budget management and financial analysis.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Starting Date:

Mid October to beginning November

Work days/hours:

The space will operate as a bar during the day and an event space in the evening during peak season - closing at 2am. Cleaning will need to be facilitated in the morning, to get ready for the upcoming day.

During season, it will most likely be open 7 days a week.

Out of season will be confirmed closer to the time/upon signing of gm contract, but it will not be open as frequently.
