Job Purpose
The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to support the creation of opportunities to influence economic growth and job creation through entrepreneurship, enterprise development and innovation.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3-year B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Economics / Business or related field; A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in enterprise development and administration.

Key Performance Areas
Support the development of initiatives to enable small business access to non-financial and financial support; Support the implementation of initiatives to provide market access opportunities; Support the implementation of initiatives to enhance entrepreneurship (social and business); Support the development of initiatives to improve the enabling environment for business through government interaction; Support the development of initiatives to identity gaps and /or blockages for service delivery improvement and refer to the relevant components; Facilitate building and strengthening partnerships to provide small businesses with business development services( e.g.: leveraging of funding and supplier development). This will be advantageous: A post-graduate tertiary qualification in Economics, Business or related field; Experience in project management.

Knowledge of the following: Understanding of business analysis and financial interpretation as a tool for SMME development; Government processes and procedures; Procurement and access to market opportunities in both the public and private sector; Stakeholder management; Project Management; Skills needed: Computer Literacy; Communication skills (written and verbal); Presenting and communicating information; Deciding and initiating actionProblem solving; Network and building bonds; Impact and influence; This will be advantageous: A valid driving licence (Code B or higher). Remuneration
R 468 459 - R 561 894 per annum (Salary level 9)
Note on remuneration in addition to service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
