We are looking for an enterprising and forward-thinking Assistant Manager to run and generally oversee a small takeaway cafe and to take the shop to the next level.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the assistants are at work on time and generally guide them in their tasks, presentation and their attitude towards guests and tourists.
Experience working in a small kitchen.
A "Foodie" who is passionate about providing good quality snacks.
Daily baking of simple cakes, cookies, biscuits, and light meals, etc.
Ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and the shop is at all times neat and tidy.
Ensure that prompt and efficient service is offered.
Manage expenses and ensure Budget and Gross Profit targets are met by implementing effective cost control measures.
Be responsible for the opening and closing of the premises.
Be in charge of stock control.
Preparation of rosters.
Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS:
Some experience in a similar field is sought.
A mature and strong character is required who is able to lead by example.
Take the cafe to the next level with energy and enthusiasm.
Display diplomacy and tolerance with demanding customers.
Good and clear communication skills are essential.
Be innovative and prepared to bring in new ideas.
Bring a bright and cheerful atmosphere to the cafe / shop so that guests enjoy their visit!

OTHER:
All staff are required to work at weekends and will be remunerated accordingly.
There is a 6-month probation period after which a permanent position will be considered.
Applicants must already be resident in Knysna.
