Job Summary Assistant Cafe Grill Restaurant Manager - Luxury Hotel and Spa, Camps Bay Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a professional and experienced Assistant Cafe Grill Restaurant Manager to join a luxury hotel and spa in Camps Bay. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, extensive food and beverage experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a 4/5-star environment. Key Responsibilities: Staff Management and Guest Service: Manage restaurant staff to ensure guest service in the restaurant, in-room dining, minibar, and poolside is of the highest standard. Conduct daily checks of restaurant cleanliness, repair, and guest readiness. Provide weekly on-the-job training to ensure service excellence. Run daily team briefings prior to service, briefing staff on restaurant and guest requirements. Ensure mise en place requirements are completed according to SOPs. Manage operating equipment to ensure sufficient stock and minimal breakages. Operations and Administration: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Cafe Grill Restaurant. Track beverage stock movement accurately and update systems accordingly. Complete end-of-service cash-ups and float management in line with SOPs. Coordinate special requests and extraordinary tasks as per SOP. Monitor and report cover counts and average spend trends. Report and follow up on all maintenance concerns to ensure timely resolution. Minimum Requirements: Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management. At least 4 years' food and beverage service experience in a 4/5-star hotel restaurant or fine dining establishment, including 2 years in a management or supervisory role. Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Experience at operator level of a Point of Sale system (Micros advantageous). Experience with stock management systems (Micros Control advantageous). Highly presentable with excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Fluent in hospitality language and terminology, particularly food and beverage vocabulary. Understanding of restaurant financials and experience in service recovery. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Advantageous Qualifications and Experience: Exposure to Micros and Micros Control systems. WSET Level 1 or Level 2 certification. Salary: R18,000 per month plus benefits, negotiable depending on experience.
