Job Description


Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our Engineering department.
We are looking for talented individual with relevant skills and experience for an Artisan : Site role, which is based in CCBSA Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will report directly to the Team Leader : Site in CCBSA Bloemfontein.

KEY PURPOSE
To perform maintenance tasks on Site Electrical Installations and aspects thereof
Key Duties & Responsibilities KEY OUTPUTS

  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
  • Inspect check electrical equipment, replace defective parts, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
  • Assemble, electrical machinery and equipment
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogues as necessary
  • Inspect, operate, and test electrical machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions
  • Record maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work
  • Clean electrical distribution boards and update schematic drawings
  • Dismantle electrical devices
  • Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, maintenance manuals and schematic diagrams
  • Order parts, or obtain them from stores
  • Adjust functional parts of electrical devices using hand tools
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on power factor correction installations
  • Inspections using condition monitoring methods
  • Conduct monthly earth leakage trip test to ensure healthy, safe operational conditions
  • Good understanding of SANS 10142 code
  • Communicating with supervisors ,peers or subordinates - providing information to supervisors, co-workers and subordinates
  • Performing general physical activities - performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs
  • Organizing, planning and prioritizing work - developed specific goals and plans to prioritize, organise and accomplish work
  • Updating and using relevant knowledge - keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job
  • Getting information - observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
  • Evaluating information to determine compliance with standards - using relevant information and individual judgement to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES
Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of electrical installations, drawings, designs and fault finding in low voltage systems and high voltage systems, LT/HT Transformers, Power Factor Correction, Electrical Control & Automation Systems, the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, deep knowledge of electrical substations
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction or repair of building
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures that apply to electrical infrastructure
  • Customer and personal service - providing customer and personal services, this includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
  • N3 with Electrical trade test
  • Experience: 3 to 4 years' experience in electrical systems/equipment/infrastructure maintenance
