Role Overview:

Wexe2x80x99re looking for an Area Sales Manager who can hit the ground running in both a caring and performance orientated working culture. This person must be able to enable, motivate and coach their sales team to exceed their targets and maximize profitable growth.

The office is based in Pinetown Durban, most of your time spent in front of clients alongside your Account Manager in the greater Kwa-Zulu Natal region. The team consists of 5 Account Managers who are segmented into 3 primary segmented client trades: Building Construction, Steel & Metal and Interior Finishing.

Role Responsibilities:

Your performance will depend on your ability to: be creative and take calculable risks in your business; define a clear business plan on how to achieve short and midterm sales; establish strong relationships with focus customers and their key decision makers; understand the customerxe2x80x99s business and build a plan to systematically develop these accounts.



You will rely on a team that you have successfully: motivated to higher levels of performance and contribution; recruited, trained, and developed in their current role and beyond; fostered effective collaboration within the Hilti organization to win as a team; ensured proper use of our CRM platform and held yourself and your team to high levels of accountability.



You will be provided significant training and guidance which will support your ability to meet and exceed our business targets and develop longstanding relationships with our customers. It also involves working with other management teams to capitalize on business potential across territories and taking an active role in supporting with key accounts.

What you need is:

To be succesful in this role, you will need:

  • A completed tertiary level qualification (Engineering/Business/Construction or related discipline preferred).
  • 3-5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in leading a sales team in related sector or industry.
  • Proven track record of leading, coaching and driving high performance in the team.
  • Effective communication skills, with a strong proficiency in English - written and verbal.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, prioritize, and develop plans and strategies to grow the organization.
  • Influential leadership skills, with the ability to delegate and maximize the involvement of team members.
  • A solution-oriented mind-set, determined to consistently meet and exceed goals.
