Drive Anti-Piracy counter measures and action such as raids, cybercrime, criminal and civil litigation. Assist with and advise on broadcast and intellectual property related piracy information received from South Africa and neighbouring countries. Building relationships with staff, Judicial and Law enforcement agencies within South Africa. Assist with and advise on broadcast and intellectual property piracy cases pertaining to MultiChoice Group. Co-operate with other operators in identifying and addressing broadcast piracy issues. Co-operate with Law enforcement agencies in the various markets to prevent and combat piracy Monitor and report any piracy related matters Testify in court on behalf of Multichoice Group Established and maintained informer network Gather Intelligence Undercover operations Ad-hoc investigations Monitoring piracy offenders Submit monthly reports Market analysis Risk Management Anti-Piracy projects Investigate and address matters pertaining to the following piracy types: Cable Piracy Grey Market Piracy Cross-Border Piracy Commercial Piracy Rebroadcasting Piracy Counterfeit Piracy Internet Streaming Piracy




FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES








Minimum of 5 -10 years' experience in the investigation and successful prosecution of crime. Legal understanding as per: Criminal procedure Act Copyright Act The Constitution of South Africa Regulation of Interception of Communication and Provision of Communication-Related Information Act (RICA) Electronic Communications & Transaction Acts (ECT) ICASA regulations SA Court litigation Investigation principles Report writing Administration Correspondence Anti-Piracy documentation PC Literate Word Spreadsheets PowerPoint MS Access Systems Literacy Business process knowledge Research methodologies Information management

Pay television industry MultiChoice products and services Anti-Piracy tools and techniques Intellectual property rights knowledge Legal knowledge

Essential Qualifications





NQF level 6 (Diploma) Detective learning program / Resolving of Crime Forensic Investigation Organised Crime Relevant Tertiary education in the investigation of crime. CFE would be advantageous. Strong forensic/investigative experience
