Job Summary Must have:

Will be responsible for:

Scheduling and coordinating the collection of soil and foliar samples for nutrients analysis.
Come up with chemical and fertilizer budget for both Chisumbanje and Middle Sabi estates
Implement the cane ripening program as per the harvesting schedule.
Issue and control fertilizer and chemicals as per specific field recommendations and time of application.
Do weed assessments throughout the estate and recommend weed control options.
Coordinating surveillance of insects, pests and diseases in sugar cane fields and recommend suitable herbicides, insecticides and pesticides to use.
Develop and implement insects, pests and disease control procedures as he/she sees fit from time to time and from field to field.
Plan and formulate a budget for pests and disease control programs as required at both estates.
Educate and provide guidance on the sugarcane variety composition and distribution on the estate.
Conduct cane variety analysis in cane fields at both Chisumbanje and Middle Sabi Estates to assess their adaptability to the prevailing weather conditions.
Monitoring crop growth measurements through taking samples on fields and assisting in analyzing data for use by Agronomy and other departments within the company.
Give technical advice on the production of disease-free sugarcane seed for planting on the estate.
