The Agent Relationship Manager - Southern Africa is responsible for expanding the client's market presence by acquiring new trade partners, reactivating dormant accounts, and maximising revenue from existing partners. Reporting to the Head of Agent Relationships, you will act as the primary point of contact for agents, delivering compelling sales presentations, tailored solutions, and training that positions the client as the leading choice for luxury safari experiences.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development & Expansion
Identify, qualify, and engage high-potential new trade partners across Southern Africa
Lead outreach campaigns and relationship-building activities to secure new partnerships
Craft persuasive pitches emphasizing the client's full-service safari and DMC capabilities
Reactivate dormant accounts through customised engagement strategies
Represent the client at trade shows, roadshows, and industry events
Account Growth & Relationship Management
Maintain and grow existing agent relationships, ensuring consistent utilisation of the client's full-service offerings
Deliver training, account reviews, and marketing collaborations to deepen agent engagement
Co-develop sales enablement tools and digital assets to support agents in selling the client's services
Strategic Planning & Market Intelligence
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and buyer expectations within the Southern African safari market
Provide insights to inform strategy, product positioning, and sales initiatives
Prepare performance reports, track KPIs, and evaluate the effectiveness of sales and reactivation efforts
Additional Responsibilities
Contribute to product innovation, system development, and process improvements
Manage individual travel and sales budgets in line with commercial targets
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the client's agent-facing initiatives
Working Hours & Conditions
Standard 9-hour working day including lunch; flexible as required by team needs
Overtime compensated with time off in lieu
Travel may range from short local trips to multi-week international assignments
Compulsory attendance at staff events and training programs during working hours
Minimum 5 years' experience in African travel, luxury safari, or destination management sectors
Proven ability to sell complex services and develop B2B relationships focused on long-term partnerships
Deep knowledge of the Southern African travel trade landscape; existing networks are highly advantageous
Track record of acquiring new accounts and reactivating dormant relationships with measurable commercial outcomes
Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM platforms
Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI or similar) for reporting and insights
Digitally confident, professional, and able to manage international correspondence
High integrity, self-starter mentality, and passion for conservation-driven travel
Valid driver's license and reliable personal transport
Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required for fam trips, trade shows, and business meetings
