Aerospace Systems Engineer
Job Description
Our client based in Somerset West has an opportunity for a Aerospace Systems Engineer. The core capabilities of the company is design, simulation, assembly, integration and testing. They are looking for a Systems Engineer who will lead project system design and requirement activities while working closely with the project managers and our multidisciplinary development / testing teams. This challenging but exciting opportunity provides wide technical exposure in a stimulating environment, ideal for someone who is keen on personal growth in the aerospace environment.
You will be responsible for but not limited to:
Structuring the system engineering process and formulation of a system engineering plan
appropriate to rocket and missile systems
Leading a team of highly qualified technical specialists
Identification of system requirements and technical risks
Functional decomposition and description of interfaces between functions and system elements
Allocation of requirements to system elements and their interfaces
Synthesis of technical solution concepts
Conduction of trade-off studies
Formulation of verification and validation requirements
Conduction of Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses
Conduction of requirement and design reviews
Creation and maintenance of a systems engineering database and documentation
Requirements
BSc. in Engineering, preferably a postgraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering
At least 5 years' experience in an aerospace engineering environment or similar
Knowledge of system engineering practice and the ability to tailor international standards to suite the project scope
Willingness to master and apply a modern systems engineering software platform
System level design experience
Skills:
Fluent in Afrikaans & English
A drive to achieve high professional standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to time manage and work on multiple systems and subsystems simultaneously
The ability to work in a team
