Admission and Selection Academic Manager (JB3284)

Central Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

R25 000 R30 000 CTC per month (negotiable dependent on experience)

Duration: 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Overview

Tertiary education distance learning provider requires the expertise of an experienced to ensure the Admissions and Selections Department achieves its main objectives through monitoring academic functions, guiding student selection based on regulations and institutional criteria, and admitting prospective students both nationally and internationally.

Minimum Requirements:

Studying towards a Doctorate preferred.

6 or more years relevant experience specific to higher education institutions with 3 years experience at management level.

Experience in the design, development, and accreditation of new programmes

Experience in formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

In depth knowledge of Education and Training legislature framework

Experience in dealing with regulatory affairs and academic quality assurance processes within a higher education environment.

Proven teaching and research portfolio with curriculum development and assessment design experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Management and Administration - with a strong focus quality and ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance in all the structures, policies and processes.

Quality assure and manage formal processes related to admissions and selections.

Admissions and Selections - Ensure targets are met for each intake and turnaround Oversee Recognition of Prior Learning

Oversee Credit Accumulation and Transfer

Ensure compliance to regulatory standards and to the focus areas of the Instructional Audit Framework as part of the Quality Assurance Framework in particular.
