Job Description

Job Purpose




The Western Cape Mobility Department, Western Cape Government hasopportunities for two (2) suitably qualified and competent individuals toprovide high level administrative support services to the Sub-directoratesWinelands and Central Karoo and the Sub-directorate Metro and WestCoast to achieve the strategic goals and objectives of the DirectorateLand Transport Integration and Oversight. The two successful incumbentsmust be able to work under pressure, willingness to travel frequently andwork irregular hours to meet tight deadlines

Minimum Requirements




An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higherqualification; A minimum of 3 years relevant experience; A valid code B (or higher) driving license. Note: People with disabilities that restrict drivingabilities but have reasonable access to transport may also apply.

Provide high level administrative support in the oversight andimplementation of Land Transport Services; Render high level administrative support services; Remains up to date with legislation, prescripts, policies, procedures and processes applicable to the work terrain; Render financial support services; Render research support services; Supervisory functions.

Competencies



Knowledge of the following:

Transport related regulatory, legislationpolicies and frameworks; Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), 1999 ,National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions, other financial policies, prescripts, directives and collective agreements; Project management; Operational management practices; Procurement and tendering processes; Public service procedures, processes and systems; Relevant software packages and sound application of relevant computer programmes; General office administration and database management; General support systems; Information and Record Management/Administration.



Skills needed:

Numeracy, Literacy, Computer Literacy; Written and verbal communication; Project Management; Accounting, Finance and Audit; Economic, Financial and Statistical Analysis; Legal Administration; Basic Research; Analytical; Organising; Planning; Time Management; Problem--solving

Remuneration



R 325 101 - R 382 959 per annum (Salary level 7)





Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Notes




Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to do a practical and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
