Job Description

In order to discharge its mandate, the FAIS Ombud seeks to appoint Graduate Trainees as part of the Graduate Recruitment Programme. This is a structured programme specifically designed to produce a pipeline of competent trainee entrants to the labour market.

Duration

- The duration of the programme is twelve (12) months.

Roll out of the Programme:

Recommended candidates will be given an opportunity to learn under a dedicated mentor. Graduates will be assigned to the Case Management/Adjudication Department and exposed to various competency-based training.

Exposure to working in a target-driven environment on complaints received by the public against financial service providers and to move same towards a resolution in a procedurally fair, informal, economical and expeditious manner.



Working in a team of experienced lawyers, financial planner(s), Investigators and negotiators.

: Adjudicate cases promptly and manage workload effectively.

: Maintain the security and confidentiality of case information.

: Ensure unbiased, ethical, and conflict-free decision-making.

Communication

: Clearly articulate rulings and explain legal concepts effectively.


South African citizen with a valid South African Identity document. LLB degree. PLT (Practical Legal Training) will be an advantage. Passion for public service and an interest/desire to work in the Financial Sector. Strong academic background. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, willing to learn and work extra hours. Energetic, self-driven and deadline driven. Must be computer literate.
