Role Purpose


A role has become available for a nearly qualified actuary / senior actuarial student within our Corporate Actuarial team that focuses on the Momentum Corporate Group Risk Product Range, which includes Group Life, Group Funeral, Permanent Health Insurance (PHI), Lump Sum Disability and Credit Life. You will be responsible for performing quarterly valuations and analyse, evaluate and report on financial results of group risk products. You will also be involved in periodic experience investigations, data and claims analysis, sensitivity testing and forecasting.



Requirements



Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science or equivalent required
At least 7 A series exams completed and making good progress with later exams
3 - 5 years relevant experience in an actuarial valuations and/or reporting role
Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities required
Good working knowledge of SQL and/or other databases/ programming languages are preferable




Duties & Responsibilities



Assist with the delivery of quarterly valuation results, including the preparation and analysis of data
Complete and analyse liability calculations and embedded value calculations to ensure that parameters used are accurate and results are reasonable
Analyse profits to assist management to manage the book of business appropriately
Resolve valuation issues with support from business as required
Assist with periodic experience investigations, data and claims analysis and sensitivity testing
Assume a product owner role for products allocated to ensure results are reasonable from a "statutory actuary" perspective
Assist to identify and implement process improvement in the valuation team
Ensure compliance with Group practices and timelines
