Responsibilities:

• Valuations (SAM, SII, IFRS): calculate quarterly technical pr ovisions reserves; Preparation of data, experience investigations and other inputs into the valuation process; Review of valuation models and spreadsheets feeding into valuation process.
• Reporting of valuation results: prepare and submit quarterly results and report to internal and external stakeholders such as Finance, Technical Accounting, Business Development, senior management, Home Office and the Prudential authority
• Profit Commission: provide and review profit commission calculations as required
• Forecasting: Prepare, review and distribute quarterly forecast and five (5) year plan to relevant business units; maintain and improve forecast models.
• Stakeholder engagement: engage with various internal and external stakeholders as may be required in relation to information provided
• Regulatory requirements: keep up to date with relevant legislative and regulatory changes in tax, accounting and how it would impact the organisation
• Mentorship and training of junior team members

• Degree in Actuarial Science
• Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary
• Minimum of 5 yearsxe2x80x99 valuations experience within a life insurance or reinsurance environment;
• Working knowledge of technical requirements and creative problem solving skills
• Proven track record of the application of actuarial principles and methods.

• Salary: R550K/yr - R650K/yr, negotiable
