Job Description


Responsibilities:
Take care of own and colleagues Health and Safety.
Support the business towards achieving ISO 45001 certification for the the farm.
Maintain the operational systems and corresponding documentation to ensure compliance with BRC, GlobalGAP, Nurtures (Tesco), Albert Heijn, Farming for the Future, Waitrose, SIZA, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance and other assessment audits.
Maintain accreditations manuals and forms BRC and GlobalGAP.
Minute the Monthly BRC Food Safety and GlobalGAP meetings.
Managing the audit process, from booking audits to internal audits and overseeing the audits.
Co-ordinating any audit related activities which may come up during the year.
Conduct scheduled and spot checks on farm records and stores during the year.
Conduct Internal Audits within the operations business. This would include farm activities relevant to a specific time of year (eg. spraying, tree injections etc.), both in KZN and Limpopo.
Organising collection of water samples annually and managing actions required from results.
Develop clear, standardize protocols, policies and Standard Operating Procedures for all production activities, in conjunction with the greater Production business.
Create or updating farm risk assessments, policies and procedures.
Organise training activities with external service providers (chemical handling training, power tool training, etc).
Ensure suppliers and contractors are aware of our farm policies and procedures.
Prepare recruitment documents.
Schedule pre and exit medical examinations.
Review all contracts.
Share all documentation with H/O HR and Payroll offices.
Administer all provident fund documentation withdrawals, death claims and funeral benefits.
Attend to all matters pertaining to ESOP, Provident fund, medical aid where applicable, UIF, etc. and communicate with the respective offices.
Prepare and administer all disciplinary documentation and records.
Capture monthly wage deduction schedules and Overtime schedules, and send to the Payroll office.
Manage the testing of fruit MRLs.
Capture records of farming activities (ie soil and leaf results, blackspot spraying, fertilizer applications, etc.)
Capture of weather data.
Capture harvesting records and calculate picking bonuses.
Manage the document archives.

Requirements:
Dip in Agriculture, Accounting or Business Administration
3-5 yrs exp in Agriculture and/or packhouse environment
Accreditations experience, specifically GlobalGAP and BRC.
Working knowledge of ERP systems
Knowledge of external accreditation requirements for the local and export market.
