The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably and competent individual to assist the departmental BAS System Controller and performing bookkeeping functions with regards to the administration of incorrect segment combination where applicable, theft and losses, departmental claims, credit sales and procurement for the section. This post is based in Elsenburg.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) with accounting and/or mathematics as a passed subject.
Recommendation
Experience in the financial field; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

Key Performance Areas
Procurement, stores and stationery; Monthly reporting and record keeping of credit sales, claims, gift and donations, operating lease, fruitless and wasteful, irregular and unauthorised as well as theft and losses register; Compile and capture journals on BAS on municipality accounts, credit sales and interdepartmental claims; Document control; Clearing of inconsistent allocations on BAS; Perform post audit on all LOGIS payments.
Competencies
A good understanding of the following: Basic Accounting System; Public Finance Management Act; National Treasury Regulations and Provincial Treasury Instructions; Financial prescripts; Proven computer literacy; Written and verbal communication skills.
Remuneration
R202 233 per annum (Salary level 5)
