Key Responsibilities:

Prepare Financial Statements:

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.

General Ledger:

Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.

Reconciliations:

Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.

Expense Analysis:

Monitor and analyze operating expenses, ensuring cost control and identifying potential savings areas.

VAT & Tax Compliance:

Assist with VAT returns, tax calculations, and compliance with local tax regulations.

Assist in Budgeting & Forecasting:

Support the finance team with budget preparation and financial forecasting.

Audit Preparation:

Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial data.

Month-End Closing:

Participate in the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring that all financial information is accurate and submitted on time.

Ad Hoc Financial Analysis:

Provide insights and ad hoc financial reports to support decision-making for the business.

Qualifications:

Education:

BCom degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the FMCG or Retail industry.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.

Software Skills:

Proficient in MS Excel (advanced level) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar).

Attention to Detail:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and data entry.

Analytical Skills:

Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations.

Communication:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).



Experience with financial analysis and reporting tools.



Familiarity with the FMCG or Retail industry and its financial nuances.
