We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to oversee financial operations, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and provide meaningful financial insights to support business decision-making within a JSE-listed organisation.

Responsibilities and Duties

Oversee financial operations and ensure accurate, timeous processing of all financial transactions. Perform and review complete General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations. Prepare and analyse specified month-end financial reports. Ensure accurate capturing and communication of production reporting, maintaining alignment with unit ledger balances. Uphold strong internal controls by ensuring full compliance with policies, procedures, and governance standards. Provide financial insights and guidance to support Business Unit budgeting and cost management. Identify financial risks and ensure effective internal controls are implemented to mitigate them. Maintain accurate stock movement controls across systems (JDE, Microsoft, Log Trace). Support the successful execution of year-end processes in line with group requirements. Liaise with auditors and Group Finance, ensuring that audit queries are resolved promptly and professionally.

Qualifications and Skills

Requirements:

Educational:

Grade 12. BCom Accounting degree or equivalent qualification. Completed SAICA articles; newly qualified CA(SA) or CIMA designation will be an advantage.

Work Experience:

Minimum of 3 years' relevant accounting experience

Other:

Advanced Excel proficiency and strong financial system skills Working knowledge of stock management processes will be advantageous Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the confidence to engage professionally at all organisational levels Demonstrated analytical capability with proven problem-solving skills Ability to show initiative and contribute to effective financial leadership
