Perform month-end transactional activities e.g., review of adjustments, month-end closing procedures and recon preparation etc. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and follow up on long outstanding items. Maintain intercompany loan accounts. Maintain the hedging process in line with AECI Treasury policy & ensure that all imports and exports are hedged accordingly on a weekly basis. Manage monthly management accounts for a portfolio of internal and external customers. Correspond and interact with clients to obtain information required to complete tasks and to make them aware of filing deadlines and other obligations. Maintain operators in the various banking profiles and ensure compliance with AECI Banking policy. Capture loading of EFT payments; release of EFT payments, process of non-vendor related payments in SAP and conducting cash book processing and bank reconciliation preparation. Engage with stakeholders at an operational level to address any service delivery issues. Comply with all legislation relating to IFRS. Identify internal control weaknesses and assist in developing and implementing improvement opportunities. Review audit instructions and compile/prepare supporting documentation for the audit process. Resolve audit queries and discuss with internal / external auditor where required. Comply with Safety, Health, and Environment standards.

Qualifications & Experience

B Com degree or equivalent (Honours would be advantageous) Minimum 3-5 years' experience as an Accountant Articles (advantageous) Understanding of manufacturing industries A high degree of computer literacy including advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite - especially MS Excel and word. Sound knowledge of International financial reporting Standards (IRFS) Knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP Knowledge of systems, policies, and procedures Knowledge of the regulatory, statutory and compliance frameworks affecting area of responsibility * Ability to extract reports from the system
