We are recruiting for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join a dynamic finance team on a fixed-term contract of 3 - 6 months. This hybrid role offers micro flexibility, with the option to work both remotely and from an office based in either Cape Town or Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles and will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and contributing to the overall efficiency of financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and present accurate monthly management accounts.
Support quarterly budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with multiple departments.
Manage VAT calculations and submissions across South Africa and the MENA region.
Oversee the annual audit process, including preparation and liaison with auditors.
Ensure full compliance with income tax requirements.
Monitor and forecast cash flow across multiple subsidiaries.
Provide guidance to junior finance and admin staff.
Lead or contribute to financial process and system improvement projects.
Requirements
BCom or BBusSci with a postgraduate diploma or Honours in Accounting (required).
CA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA qualification (advantageous).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance role or 3 years of articles plus 2 years post-articles experience.
Solid understanding of IFRS and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with ERP systems like NetSuite, SAGE, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
Strong analytical, organisational, and time management skills.
