Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Accountant to be based at Lichtenburg, North West. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Financial Controller.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To manage the financial department of McCain Foods Farms of the Future, a 100% owned subsidiary of McCain Foods SA (Pty) Ltd. This includes reporting locally and globally on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Manage the forecast and AOC (Annual Operating Commitment) process and oversee audits both internal and external, as well as statutory reporting and tax compliance. Manage office administration staff. Design and implement processes and procedures. This position will also provide the Farm Manager with valuable financial insights by analyzing financial data obtained.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Monitor the companyxe2x80x99s compliance with statutory requirements and other standards.
• Manage budget process and consolidation.
• Manage financial reporting monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Manage and co-ordinate internal and external audit.
• Manage and prepare year end statutory financial statements and tax returns.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and reports.
• Collate, maintain and review financial cost reporting.
• Collate, maintain and review sustainable cost saving and related reports including management reports.
• Maintain general financial administration.
• Maintain and/or improve standard operating procedures and alignment of personnel to procedures including on the job training/assistance/guidance.
• Manage Insurance submissions.
• VAT submissions.
• Manage IFRS16 Leases.
• Financial planning and analysis (FP&A).

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• B Comm Accounting degree.
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience obtained in standard costing systems. SAICA/SAIPA articles will count towards a maximum of 3-years relevant experience.
• A strong understanding of IFRS reporting as well as updated knowledge of the Companies Act.
• Understanding Accounting procedures and general management in a similar environment.
• Knowledge of SA Tax.
• Knowledge of Sage.
• Advanced understanding of Excel.
