POSITION INFO:
Our client in Durbanville, Cape Town, is looking to appoint an Accountant.
Responsibilities:
- Processing of Bank
- Manage Debtors & Stock Facility
- Manage Debtors
- Liaise with clearing agents to clear imports
- GRN/Receiving of containers into ERP (Pastel)
- Various month-end summaries - Commission,
- Assisting creditors with queries
- Authorising creditors and prepare creditors payment import file
- Oversee processing of Credit Cards, Fuel cards
- Maintaining of FAR
- Involvement in stock takes
- Investigate stock queries/variances
- Commission Calculations
- Interest calculations
- Scrutinise GL Accounts
- Financial Management Accounts
- Insurance policy review
- Dealing with Financial Auditors
- Bachelor's degree in
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements
- Solid understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger functions
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional certification (e.g. SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA) would be advantageous
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
