Job Summary



The Revenue Accountant will support in ensuring that all revenue for Managed Services and Professional Services is accurately accounted for and maintaining robust processes associated with these revenue streams. This role will be required to proactively identify and troubleshoot any process gaps in a constantly evolving area of Accounting. The role will be highly varied, challenging and diverse. Ideal requirements include a qualified Accountant with 3 - 4 years' experience in industry who has strong technical accounting skills with exceptional Excel skills and ability to learn new accounting platforms. They will also have proven ability to analyze large sets of data and draw insightful conclusions while interacting with cross-functional departments.

What you will do




As the Revenue Accountant, you will accurately deliver the month-end results including taking ownership of monthly services revenue. Within this, you will create certainty and confidence in the numbers delivered and communicate risks and opportunities to the business.


You will be responsible for:

Accounting for Revenue in accordance with both ASC 606 (US GAAP) and FRS 102 (UK GAAP) which includes, but are not limited to: Reconciling billings to revenue Reconciling contract liability and accrued revenue accounts Reviewing customer contracts and documenting assessments in accordance with the five-step model Monthly close analytics and commentary; providing insight into the monthly reporting information to the Head of Revenue and Contract Accounting Reporting and analysis for revenue and margin at a customer and contract level and reconciliation in a dual system process Performance of the monthly close process for revenue within the Group deadlines Booking AOR deals in a timely manner Communication with non-finance teams to improve understanding of systems, processes and commercial drivers Preparation and distribution of revenue related reports for Group and Business Unit coworkers Performance and review of SOX controls in a timely manner Preparing annual statutory financial statements including supporting files for the auditors

Ad hoc projects as needed including, but not limited to, process improvement, improving commercial understanding etc.

What we expect of you




Required experience

Qualified Accountant ideally with 2-4 year experience Strong Microsoft Excel skills and skilled in use of other Microsoft Office platforms including Power BI Industry experience preferable but will consider other routes Understanding of US GAAP/IFRS, being able to distinguish the differences from FRS 102, is desirable especially ASC 606 (US GAAP) Understanding of multi reporting entities and consolidation desirable Experience in multi-national US parent organizations would be a plus. Experience working to tight close deadlines Experience with Great Plains and Navision would be preferable but not a necessity.
