About Helpbox

Helpbox is a fast-growing accountancy firm dedicated to helping small businesses across the UK manage their finances with confidence. We are expanding our remote support team and looking for a proactive and articulate Account Manager to handle client communications and ensure our clients feel consistently supported.

Role Overview

As part of our central support team, you will be responsible for managing incoming communications from our clients. This role is about more than just answering calls or emails, you'll act as a trusted first point of contact, understanding client needs, resolving straightforward queries, and ensuring the right issues are passed to the right specialists. Over time, you'll gain knowledge of UK accounting basics and play a key role in ensuring clients have a smooth experience with Helpbox.

Key Responsibilities

Client communication:

Respond to incoming client enquiries by phone, email and live chat in a professional, client-focused manner.

Triage and coordination:

Assess each query, resolve directly where possible, or direct clients to the right internal team member.

Problem-solving:

Take ownership of queries, following up to ensure clients receive timely and accurate resolutions.

Call and appointment booking:

Manage scheduling for client calls using our internal systems.

Knowledge building:

Develop familiarity with FAQs and core accounting concepts to handle more queries independently.

CRM management:

Log all interactions in Freshdesk and keep client records accurate and up to date.

Client confidence:

Represent Helpbox with warmth, clarity, and professionalism in every interaction.
Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 UK time 30-minute unpaid break each day
What We're Looking For

Strong communication skills (written and spoken), with a clear and confident telephone manner. Previous experience in client-facing roles (account management, client success, or professional services support). Ability to manage multiple conversations, stay organised, and follow through until resolution. Solutions-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in helping small businesses. Tech-savvy with experience using CRM or helpdesk tools (Freshdesk preferred). Willingness to learn the basics of UK accounting and taxation to better support clients. (Preferred but not essential) Experience in accountancy, finance, or working with UK-based clients.
