A security officer must be well-trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators. They will possess a high level of observation. The goal is to help the company in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping facilities safe and problem-free.

The successful candidate must be fit to work on an Industrial site, work well under pressure, be neat and presentable as well as have the ability to work with people and have the desire to grow within the team.
Responsibilities
Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property
Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area
Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
Provide assistance to people in need
Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences
Minimum Requirements
Grade B - Psira registered and up to date
Grade 12
Must be physically fit and healthy to work on an industrial site - ability to be on your feet whole day
The candidate must be able to perform well in a high intensity stressful environment
ATG scanner knowledge will be advantageous
Good interpersonal skills are important
The candidate must be able to compile various security related reports
The candidate must show ability and willingness to be fast tracked to become a reliever shift supervisor.
The candidate must have a sober lifestyle - Alcohol tests are conducted daily on all officers reporting for and off duty.
The candidate will be expected to attend various development training sessions in order to become a proficient security officer. Normally these training sessions are scheduled during rest days without remuneration. No more than one session per month with a company allowance towards travelling cost.
This is a self-posting position - The candidate must be able to self-post in time to the site in Stellenbosch without any problems for every shift as rostered. - Reliable transport will have to be proved.
Suitable candidates must pass all recruitment checks - aptitude test, interviews, background checks etc.
