Main purpose of the job
Ensure the consolidated strategic management of resources and operations. To achieve sustainability, efficiency, productivity and economies of scale in the utilisation of human capital, financial and other resources. Provide human capital management, financial management and operational services and advice to the management and staff of the CUT.
Main tasks
1. Strategy and compliance
2. Division management & administration
3. Strategic leadership to the Human Resources section
4. Strategic leadership to the ICT & Computer Services section
5. Strategic leadership to the Estates & Infrastructure section
6. Strategic leadership to the Communications & Marketing section
Nature of appointment
Five-year Executive Manager performance-based contract

Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or
Experience
xc2xb7 Masters degree or equivalent
xc2xb7 Extensive experience and appreciable outcomes in a profession relevant to the functions quoted above.
xc2xb7 Relevant administrative and management experience at senior or executive level especially within the higher education sector
xc2xb7 Knowledge of and experience in the higher education systems and operations internationally, including South Africas national higher education systems and policies
xc2xb7 A well-established performance track record or evidence of excellent accomplishment and recognition in his/her profession (including in academic or research work).
xc2xb7 The ability to lead, motivate and innovate systems and processes and be oriented towards outputs and outcomes.
xc2xb7 S/he will be self-driven but should be able to participate in teams and collaborate with senior staff members and members of the CUT community, stakeholders and partners
xc2xb7 The ability to function effectively in the multicultural working environment of the University and address its transformation challenges.
