Minimum Requirements

• Education: Matric required; formal certifications or degrees in Networking, Telecommunications, or IT are strongly preferred.
• Certifications: One or more of the following:

o CompTIA Network+
o Cisco CCNA
o Sophos firewall certifications
o Fiber optic certifications

• Physical Fitness: This role involves physical work, including climbing, carrying equipment, and working on high sites in various weather conditions.

Key Technical Skills & Experience

• Networking & Telecommunications:

o Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, cabling, fiber optics, and wireless systems.
o Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls (Cambium, Sophos preferred).

• Network Design & Implementation:

o Configuring routers, switches, and firewall devices.

• Security & Troubleshooting:

o Identifying vulnerabilities, managing security policies, and resolving network issues.

• Protocols & Technologies:

o Experience working with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other standard protocols.

• Cloud & Virtualization:

o Familiarity with cloud networking and virtualized environments.

• Monitoring & Optimisation:

o Use of monitoring tools such as PRTG and DataTill to ensure network performance.Soft Skills & Work Ethic

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently without supervision.
• Professional and clear communication with clients and team members.
• Commitment to continuous learning and ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies.
