Nova Pioneer is looking for an exceptional Cambridge International IGCSE, AS and A-Level Physics and Chemistry Teacher to lead our Science Department in 2024. Lead teachers lead the instruction of their subject across multiple grades and classrooms and are responsible for driving a rigorous, enquiry-based learning environment the Nova Pioneer way.   • Develop comprehensive and challenging lesson plans aligned with AS and A-level Physics and Chemistry syllabi.
  • Stay abreast of changes in curriculum requirements and examination standards.
Advanced Instruction:
  • Provide advanced instruction in Physics and Chemistry to AS and A-level students.
  • Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and independent research.
  • Consistently meet the ambitious goals of a rapidly growing organisation.
Assessment and Examination Preparation:
  • Deliver exceptional, real-world, enquiry-based Physics and Chemistry lessons that align with the Cambridge curriculum.
  • Prepare students to sit IGCSE, AS, and A-level exams.
  • Create and administer assessments to gauge student understanding and progress.
  • Prepare students for AS and A-level examinations, including developing effective exam strategies.
  • Ensure rigorous moderation of assessment
  • Coach teachers in effective instruction and assessment
  • Ensure alignment in curriculum delivery over multiple campuses
Individual Support:
  • Infuse joy and passion for learning in lessons and so that students are excited about and invested in their academic excellence.
  • Offer additional support to students who may need extra assistance or challenges.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance student learning and performance.
  • Provide necessary accommodations and modifications for the growth and success of all students.
Classroom Management:
  • Maintain a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies
  • Set and communicate rigorous and ambitious goals for all students and teachers and provide student feedback so they internalize them.
  • Be accountable for studentsxe2x80x99 mastery of academic standards.
Parent and Stakeholder Communication:
  • Maintain positive, constructive and professional relationships with students, their families, and colleagues.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and performance.
  • Collaborate with school administrators and attend parent-teacher conferences
Professional Development:
  • Stay informed about advancements in Physics and Chemistry education.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching and management skills.
Extracurricular Involvement:
  • Support and lead extracurricular activities related to Physics and Chemistry, such as science clubs or competitions.
Technology Involvement:
  • Integrate interactive technology into lessons to enhance instructional delivery.

ABOUT YOU
Skills and Qualifications required:
  • TSC certification and relevant Bachelors of Education Degree in Teaching.
  • Strictly 3+ years of teaching experience.
  • You are a great communicator. You are able to provide clear and effective written and verbal communication to the leadership team
  • You are flexible and open to change - you handle uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity well.
  • You are a problem solver - you are proactive in identifying issues and address these thoroughly by making effort to find appropriate solutions.
  • You are excited about our organizational culture and in particular, you are fired up to challenge yourself by embracing mutual vulnerability and a firehose of feedback
