Brief description

The main purpose of this position is to manage projects within the Currency Programme Management Office (CPMO) by leading, planning, organising and controlling resources in line with the South African Reserve Bank's (SARB) approved project management methodology, and to deliver the project scope and objectives according to the specifications, on time and within budget.

Detailed description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:


Collaborate with stakeholders to define the project scope and develop a comprehensive work breakdown structure, ensuring a shared understanding of deliverables and project approach. Prepare and maintain detailed project management plans encompassing all knowledge areas, including scope, quality, risk, schedule, cost, human resources, procurement, integration and communication, with regular updated as needed. Ensure the timely production, approval and maintenance of all project documentation, deliverables and reports. Identify and manage project risks, constraints and changes, ensuring project plans remain well-managed and receive appropriate approvals as circumstances change. Build and sustain effective relationships with all stakeholders, role players and service providers to ensure commitment to shared project goals. Establish and effectively lead a project team, clearly assigning roles and responsibilities to facilitate the successful delivery of project outputs. * Direct and coordinate the activities of project team members, ensuring that the project stays on track with the approved schedule, delivers expected outcomes, remains within budget and meets agreed-upon specification and quality standards.
